What happens if I am aware of fraud at the state or local level?
Many states have adopted versions of the False Claims Act to protect against fraud at the state or local level. Persons who are aware of fraud may be able to pursue a Qui Tam lawsuit in their city or state and may be eligible for a reward if their case is successful. States that currently have False Claims statutes include: California, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Illinois, and many others.
